Fear of the Storm
Having this fear, means I never have fun,
Because all I feel is the need to run.
No matter how big, no matter how small,
Seeing a grey cloud just says it all.
Even feeling something as small rain,
I’ll directly have the need to complain.
“Oh we’re gonna die”, “oh, we’re gonna drown,”
For the queen of complaints, I deserve the crown.
From tornados to floods, I’ve been worried sick,
The walls where I live are not that thick.
At my cottage is the place I worry the most,
It’s tornado central and storms are the host.
I’m scared the storm will lift us off the ground,
And toss us somewhere, never to be found.
You’d think that I’m foolish, and I might have to agree,
But this is what I construe as reality
Fear of the Dark
This fear is one that traumatizes me.
It is one that won’t let me break free.
There is nothing more triggering than something this horrific.
It’s features, its intimidations are so specific.
Every night, I sleep with one and only fright:
that there will be someone in my room that night.
Someone watching, staring into my soul,
Because of this fear, I’ve never felt whole.
There’s nothing available that could comfort me,
This fear is real and the experience can also be.
Hallways are what make my stomach swell,
Their emptiness is like a gateway to hell.
Who knows what could be waiting down that empty space,
It’s almost like death is staring you right in your face.
Tonight could be your last night alive,
And you have absolutely no chance to survive.
It lurks, it waits, for the perfect time,
The suspense inside you begins to climb.
This fear is one that traumatizes me, I’ve had no relaxation,
I try my best to believe it’s not real, but there’s been no liberation.
So take my word for it and remember that it’s fake,
Or you’ll mess up like me and your sanity will be at stake.
