Hungry
I’m Hungry…
Not really for something to eat,
But for people’s laughter, compassion and better education;
Of course
A good education doesn’t eliminate one being selfish,
Rude, unethical and immune to other’s needs;
I’m Hungry…
To comprehend Nature’s impartiality
With humanity’s cruelty towards its own;
I’m Hungry…
For the universal knowledge that sustains Life,
Though, I may have had a five course dinner;
I’m Hungry…
To be able to speak all those languages
That Humanity gifted us with… to be human;
I’m Hungry…
For the kind of companionship which, willy-nilly,
Allows Love to feed a joyful existence;
And I’m Thirsty…
For those feelings that kind words bring into
The embracing of a good Life.
Yes, I’m Hungry,
Of course, I am!
Aren’t you?
