National Family Day
National Family Day Focused on Huntington Disease Simultaneously in 5 Canadian Cities
(TORONTO) June 4, 2008….Beaming expert knowledge to the hearts of local communities will be the goal as the Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) host their first National KPMG Huntington Disease Conference and Family Day 2008 on Saturday, June 7th. “Reach for the Summit – Achieving a World Free of Huntington’s Disease” is the theme of the HSC Family Day which will be hosted simultaneously in 5 communities (Ottawa, Toronto, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Saskatoon) across Canada.
“Families, healthcare professionals, researchers and students will be informed and inspired as we beam presentations from some of the best Huntington Disease researchers in the world to a community near you,” said Don Lamont, CEO & Executive Director of the Huntington Society of Canada. “The Huntington Society of Canada working in conjunction with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa with the collaboration of the Center for Mediated Teaching and Learning, part of the Teaching Support Service of the University of Ottawa, is taking a bold new approach to reaching families and professionals in their own communities. We’re combining local programming with interactive videoconferencing that lets you ask questions and hear other audience members across Canada while you stay close to home.”
The Toronto session runs on Saturday, June 7th from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Bahen Centre for Information Technology, Room 1170, 40 St. George Street, Toronto, ON.
