Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on thanksgiving
Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the occasion of Thanksgiving:
“As family and friends come together this Thanksgiving, I encourage Canadians to reflect on the many blessings that we enjoy in our great country.
“Let us give thanks for the prosperity, security, rule of law and democracy that provide us with one of the best standards of living in the world.
“It is also a time to remember and lend a helping hand to those in need in Canada and around the world.
“On this special day, let us also honour the members of the Canadian Armed Forces who are not at home for the holiday, but rather are on duty protecting our freedom and security.
“On behalf of Laureen, myself and our children, I wish all Canadians a very happy Thanksgiving.”
