Earth Hour at the CN Tower

Earth Hour is Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 8:30-9:30pm.

As a national icon, the CN Tower is an important symbol for Canada, Ontario and Toronto’s participation in this international event to show that we all care about taking action against climate change.

While the CN Tower remains open to the public on this evening with visitors and a very busy restaurant, we will take steps to reduce energy as much as possible. In addition to turning off exterior lighting (with the exception of aircraft safety lights) we will look for ways of reducing consumption inside the Tower during Earth Hour such as:

Reducing or turning off non life safety interior lights, signage and monitors on all levels. (Upper Observation Level lighting is currently lowered as much as safely possible to provide best views.)
Reducing the heat by 5 degrees.
Decreasing elevator use.
Reminding our staff and tenants to turn off lights and computers and encouraging them to participate.

Join millions across the planet and plan to turn off your lights this Saturday during Earth Hour. For more information go to www.wwf.ca/EarthHour

Defining the Toronto skyline, at a height of 553.33m (1,815 ft., 5 inches), the CN Tower is Canada’s National Tower, an engineering Wonder and Toronto’s must see attraction visited by over 1.5 million people annually.
