Elections Ontario making the voting process easy for new Canadians
Elections Ontario is helping new Canadians to learn about the different options for casting their ballot in the upcoming provincial general election. In order to make the voting process easy, the election agency is offering information in many languages spoken in communities across the province.
From Arabic to Armenian, from Polish to Portuguese – there’s a wealth of information online to tell voters when, where and how they can cast their ballot in a total of 34 languages. Videos to help to viewers understand the voting process are also available with closed captioning. The videos are supported by YouTube’s Google Translation feature and are especially helpful for new Canadians or voters participating in Ontario’s election process for the first time.
At voting locations, electors will have access to guides in 35 languages that explain how to cast a ballot. Voters who need help at the poll can bring a friend or support person or ask a poll official for assistance.
