Canada Day Greetings from the Prime Minister
I am delighted to extend my heartfelt greetings to all Canadians, from those celebrating on Parliament Hill to our brave men and women in uniform stationed abroad, on the occasion of the 144th anniversary of the founding of our great country. Canadians have much to be grateful for and many wonderful things to celebrate this year. We are particularly proud, on this Canada Day, to welcome our future King and Queen, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It has been 144 years since Sir John A. Macdonald, Sir George-Etienne Cartier and the great statesmen of Confederation realized their dream of a united Canada. These visionaries gazed down through the years and imagined what the best country in the world would like. We are the beneficiaries of their incredible foresight. Peace, order and good government are the foundation of the Canada we know and love today. A Canada respected in the world as a trusted partner. A country so prosperous and welcoming, that it has become a beacon for people from every conceivable nation who seek freedom, opportunity and a better life. On this day, above all others, may our hearts glow, as we see our Canada rise. A country that is as prosperous, as united and as strong as it can be. For we truly live in the best country in the world, just as our founders intended. On behalf of Laureen, Benjamin and Rachel and the Government of Canada, I wish all of you a wonderful Canada Day.
Happy birthday Canada!
