Canada was just crowned one of the top countries in the world
Condé Nast Traveler revealed its 2025 Readers' Choice Awards on Tuesday. The travel magazine received a staggering 757,109 votes in its 38th annual Readers' Choice Awards survey, dubbing winners in categories such as best cities and best resorts in the world.
CN Traveler also asked its readers to rank their favourite countries around the world, and Canada made the top 10.
The True North took 10th place out of a total of 20, with a score of 90.94.
"Travellers today are craving what's real; experiences that build compassion, spark belonging, and remind us of what we share," said Gloria Loree, chief marketing officer at Destination Canada, in a statement about the ranking.
"For Americans, Canada offers exactly that. It's a place that welcomes you in, leaves a lasting mark, and sends you home seeing the world and one another a little differently."
The Government of Canada tourism agency credited the high ranking to vibrant cityscapes in cities like Toronto and Montréal, majestic landscapes in Banff and Yukon, and Indigenous-led experiences that honour the land and its stories.
Canada followed closely behind France, which took the ninth spot with a score of 91.24. The top three places went to Japan, Greece and Portugal, respectively. Japan is in a league of its own as the only country with a score of 95.
