Three stories, one train
Two happening in the morning, one on my way back to the civilization. And just by chance they all come from foreigners, or maybe I resonate with them being a foreigner myself
A young Asian couple – a beautiful She, a handsome He. Modern, sweet… They occupy two places near each other. Some mornings they take their train breakfast, with milk, croissants, and complete relaxation. Some other times she makes her homework, really concentrated, he smiles at her from time to time. Unlike others they do not listen all the time to the music, or chat over the smart phone. I even met them once in my afternoon, still in the train station. She was carrying a rather too big portion of chicken future to become chicken wings. Frozen. I offered her a bag. The way they are painting the smile on my face…
Almost at the end of my 20 minutes morning journey a father with two kids is joining us. Just by looking at their faces I would say they are Turkish, and the kids were born here. With a bike or without, but almost all the time with the two little daughters. Maybe one is 5, the other one is 3 years old. He’s not the tallest father, they are not the most elegant kids. Two small wonders listening all the time to their father. He lets them jump first in the train asking them only from the eyes to find a spot where they are stable and safe. One is talking saying something funny, looking up to his father. They all smile. The kindness on their father’s face… I never hear what they’re saying, but they are my kind of people, not screaming like the people usually do or at least in this country. I would enter their warm circle anytime…
Is late in the evening. I dream of a hot shower and a tasty dinner. Would I be visiting again the Asian restaurant just around the corner, or do I still have a drop of energy to become the queen of my kitchen? Dreaming with open eyes… My coming back couple, maybe from India, in their 50’s… By the look they seem a bit gypsy. He is always, with no exception with arranged hair (oiled). He was once young, has a smart look. She is playing now and then with her smart phone and she’s giggling at him when she discovers a new funny feature. He did not go "smart" in the phones area, but he is joining her childish joy. The expressions on their faces are so rich, this is the only thing I do understand from their continuous talk. The language is unknown to me, I can not say the same thing about the feeling of belonging. Such a love is a blessing…
