Statement from Rona Ambrose on Thanksgiving
OTTAWA, ON - Rona Ambrose, Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, issued the following statement on Thanksgiving.
"This weekend, Canadians everywhere will gather with their loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s an opportunity for all of us to give thanks for the gift of our friends and family, and the many blessings we enjoy in our daily lives.
"As Canadians, we understand the tremendous privilege of living in this great country. While all of us may at times encounter hardship, we are also lucky to be free of much of the fear and need that affects so many around the world.
"Canada is a nation that strives for peace and prosperity for all. In turn, we must also take time to look out for each other, help where we can, and stand up for those who need our assistance both at home and around the world.
"I encourage all Canadians to also reflect upon our women and men in uniform who cannot be close to their loved ones today. The brave members of the Canadian Armed Forces make sacrifices each and every day to keep Canada a strong, proud, and free nation. We thank them for their service.
"On behalf of the Conservative caucus, I wish all Canadians a happy and safe Thanksgiving."
