Hello! For your next concert/big band review, may I suggest blowing your readers’ minds with this unique, world-famous and insanely cool 12-piece Gypsy brass ‘beast’ from România, Fanfare Ciocârlia, and their new touring companion, Canadian guitar and banjo virtuoso Adrian Raso, who, no doubt about it, will bring The Opera House down on Wednesday, June 29th playing an unprecedented blend of Eastern and Western cultures and musical traditions gathered in the high-energy album Devil's Tale (ranked #1 on World Music Charts Europe and the winner of the German Music Critics’ Prize). Ranging from Gypsy to Mediterranean flavours, Adrian Raso's musicianship showcases a captivating variety of styles, his sounds, luscious hair and hat collection being influenced by his Mediterranean and Italian cultural roots.
Opening this colossal night will be none other than Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Toronto's one and only "Balkan-klezmer-gypsy-party-punk-super-band" who has performed for TEDxToronto. Several of the Orkestra’s members are Ukrainian –Anastasia Baczynskyj, Mike Romaniak, Mark Marczyk and Stephania Woloshyn– who grew up close to their culture, incorporating their ethnic heritage into the band’s music and art visuals, done by Oksana Hawrlyak.
This extraordinary concert is part of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival (June 24 - July 3 - celebrating its 30th edition this year) on whose behalf I have the honour and pleasure to reach out to you.
For your convenience, details on the concert and the artists are included in the media advisory below. If there is anything I can be of help with, please let me know and I will gladly assist. Thank you very much for your consideration! Have a fabulous weekend! All the best, Rucsandra
